In a cautiously optimistic trading update announced this week, Breville Group has reported that:
Total annual R&D Investment has increased 97% between FY15 and FY19;
The R&D Team headcount has increased from 60 to 140 employees between FY15 and FY19;
A strong product development pipeline has driven the acceleration of revenue growth;
Breville also noted that given an average 3 to the 4-year development cycle, it is important to maintain R&D Investment. This assertion supports the previous statements from companies such as CSL, Cochlear, and Dulux Group calling for the stability of R&D Tax Incentives to allow companies to confidently make investment decisions aligned with long-term product development cycles.
