During this week’s election campaign announcements, Labor party industry spokesmen Kim Carr has outlined the following in discussions with the AFR and Innovationaus.com:  Labor want to increase Australia’s Business Expenditure on R&D to 3% of GDP by 2030. Further Statement from Opposition on R&D Tax Policy

Opposition spokesman on innovation policy, Ed Husic has recently discussed R&D Tax Incentive during an interview by  InnovationAus.com. Opposition Innovation, Industry and Science Spokesman Senator Kim Carr has been quoted in the AFR today with respect to Labor’s innovation policy during the federal election campaign. Budget 2019: R&D Tax Incentive Programme Cost Reductions with No Specific Detail

The Federal Government handed down their budget on 2 April 2019 and whilst there appeared to be no specific new changes proposed to the R&D Tax Incentive, the forward estimates cost of the programme is projected to reduce by $1.35 billion.
